  1. Website Use and Eligibility
  • By using this website, you warrant that you are at least 18 years old or possess legal parental/guardian consent to enter into binding agreements.
  • You agree to use the site only for lawful purposes and not to compromise the security, accessibility, or integrity of the site or its content.
  1. Products, Pricing, and Availability
  • Catalogue & Accuracy: We make every effort to display product dimensions, fabrics, leathers, and wood finishes as accurately as possible. However, actual colours may vary slightly due to screen calibration and batch variations in natural materials.
  • Stock Availability: Displaying an item on our online catalogue or shop does not guarantee immediate stock availability. Certain custom suites, recliners, or bed sets may require manufacturing or lead times from our suppliers.
  • Pricing: All prices displayed on the website are quoted in South African Rand (ZAR) and include Value Added Tax (VAT) unless stated otherwise. Delivery fees, assembly charges, and removal of old furniture are not included in product prices unless explicitly agreed in writing.
  • Errors: In the event of an inadvertent technical or pricing error, Eric Barnard Meubels reserves the right to correct the error and cancel or re-quote any order placed under an incorrect price prior to fulfillment.
  1. Orders and Payment
  • An order placed online or via our sales channels constitutes an offer to purchase. An agreement is only finalized once payment (or an agreed deposit) is confirmed and the order is formally accepted.
  • We accept electronic funds transfers (EFT) and standard South African electronic payment methods supported by our secure payment gateway. Goods remain the property of Eric Barnard Meubels until paid for in full.
  1. Delivery and Collection
  • Delivery Areas: Delivery services operate predominantly within Pretoria, Gauteng, and surrounding areas by our dedicated delivery team or vetted third-party couriers.
  • Access Requirements: Customers must ensure that adequate and clear access is available to the delivery destination (e.g., stairwells, doorways, hallways, elevators). Eric Barnard Meubels and its drivers are not liable for property damage resulting from deliveries forced through inadequate spaces at the customer’s request.
  • Inspection on Delivery: Upon receipt, you or your designated representative must inspect the delivered goods and sign the delivery note confirming that items were received in good order. Any visible external defect or transit damage must be noted directly on the delivery receipt and reported within 24–48 hours.
  • In-Store Collection: If collecting directly from our Waverley showroom, proof of purchase and identification are required before items are released.
  1. Warranties and Guarantees
  • Manufacturer Warranties: Brand-name products (such as Sealy, Cloud Nine, La-Z-Boy, Alpine Lounge, Grafton Everest, and others) carry their respective manufacturer warranties and service guarantees. We will assist customers in facilitating valid warranty claims directly with the manufacturer.
  • Exclusions: Warranties do not cover normal wear and tear, intentional misuse, accidental damage, chemical/sunlight degradation, unauthorized alterations, or failure to follow manufacturer care instructions.
  1. Returns, Cancellations, and Refunds
  • Our returns and cancellation practices comply with the South African Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA) and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (ECTA).
  • Defective Goods: If a product is defective within the statutory 6-month period (and not caused by misuse), you are entitled to have the product repaired, replaced, or refunded in accordance with the CPA.
  • Custom & Made-to-Order Items: Furniture manufactured or upholstered to customer-selected specifications (e.g., custom fabrics, specific leather grades, customized suite dimensions) is non-refundable once production has commenced, except in cases of manufacturing defect.
  • Please refer to our separate Returns & Refunds Policy document for complete details on return logistics and handling fees.
